Landscaping in Mesa's Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone

The Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone, or PAMZ, is more than 1,000 acres of industrial land in southeast Mesa, right next to Mesa Gateway Airport. It's built for factories, heavy and light industrial users and business parks. Pro Turf keeps the grounds at sites like these weed-free, dust-controlled and draining properly, so the landscape is one less thing your plant manager has to think about.

Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone, Mesa

Industrial grounds that stay under control

Also known as: PAMZ

Six miles of new rail, a lot of gravel and plenty of wind. We'll handle the gravel and the weeds.

PAMZ uses an Employment Opportunity floating zone that follows Mesa's General Industrial guidelines, and the city allows general and heavy industrial, light industrial, business park and supporting commercial uses. Opted-in landowners can get administrative approval in a few weeks instead of up to six months. Fast approvals mean buildings go up quickly, often surrounded by graded land that isn't built yet. That land needs weed control and dust control from day one.

Union Pacific is building six miles of new rail line with five crossings along the zone's northern edge. Rail edges, truck courts and gravel storage yards collect weeds and windblown trash fast, and nobody notices until the fence line looks abandoned. Maricopa County Rule 310.01 also requires dust control on unpaved areas used for parking, maneuvering or storing vehicles and equipment, and on disturbed vacant land left unused for more than 15 days.

Most manufacturing sites here pair a small, sharp landscape at the office entry with acres of utility ground behind it. We maintain both: pruned shrubs and working drip up front, and scheduled weed control, basin cleanup and litter pickup around the yards and fence lines. When a new building or expansion goes in, our exterior construction crews can also handle the landscape and hardscape around it. We're AZ ROC #162171, licensed, bonded and insured.

FAQ

Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone: common questions

What does PAMZ stand for?

PAMZ is the City of Mesa's short name for the Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone, more than 1,000 acres of industrial land next to Mesa Gateway Airport in southeast Mesa.

Our unpaved yard is used for equipment storage. Do we need dust control?

Maricopa County says dust control measures are required on unpaved areas used for parking, maneuvering, material handling or storing vehicles and equipment. We can help keep weeds down and surfaces stabilized with gravel.

Can you handle weed control on our undeveloped expansion land?

Yes. We control weeds with mowers, string trimmers and hand tools, which doesn't require a county dust permit, and we leave the soil stable so it doesn't blow across the property line.
