Grass Removal & Xeriscape Conversion in Chandler, AZ

The City of Chandler's Large Landscape Grass Removal rebate reimburses 25% of the project cost, up to $20,000 per property, for multifamily, HOA and commercial customers who replace grass with low-water landscaping. Pro Turf plans and builds conversions across Chandler to the city's rules.

Chandler, Arizona

How Chandler's large-landscape grass removal rebate works

Chandler covers a quarter of the job. The lower water bill covers the rest over time.

Under the policy in effect January 1, 2026, the rebate covers 25% of the landscape replacement cost, up to $20,000 per property, with one rebate per year. At least 5,000 square feet of living, consistently irrigated grass has to be converted, unless all remaining grass on the property comes out. Flood-irrigated areas don't qualify. You can request a pre-application meeting, and the city must approve a Notice to Proceed before work starts. Don't overseed, remove grass or shut off working irrigation until the review is done.

The converted area needs plants from the Phoenix AMA low-water-use list reaching at least 50% canopy at maturity, with granite at least two inches deep. Artificial turf is reviewed case by case and can't include sprinklers, and black plastic, fountains and pools aren't allowed. The project has to be finished within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed, and funds are first come, first served.

Many Chandler properties pair this with irrigation repair in Chandler and tree trimming in Chandler, so one team handles the whole property.
