HOA Landscaping & Maintenance in Mesa, AZ

Mesa HOAs run everything from small townhome courtyards near downtown to big master-planned communities in east and northeast Mesa, and nearly all of them share the same three headaches: water bills, retention basins and trees that outgrew their spot. Pro Turf maintains Mesa HOA common areas on a set schedule, keeps irrigation in check, and helps boards use the City of Mesa's HOA water programs. Our office is on North Power Road, so Mesa is home turf.

Mesa HOAs

What Mesa HOAs deal with

Our office is in Mesa. When a resident emails the board about the entry, we've probably already driven past it.

Many Mesa communities carry large parks, greenbelts and retention basins, and the basins collect whatever the monsoon washes off the streets. Clearing sediment and trash, keeping weeds down and checking drywell grates before summer storms keeps basins draining and keeps the HOA off the list of neighborhoods with a standing-water problem.

Older Mesa communities often have mature trees, aging irrigation and turf that was installed when water was cheaper. Newer ones in east Mesa have young trees that need structural pruning now so they don't need expensive corrections later. We plan both around your reserve study instead of surprising the board with one big bill.

Mesa's water programs for HOAs

The City of Mesa pays HOAs $2 per square foot to replace grass with a low-water landscape, up to $50,000 per property in a 12-month period, with a 2,500 square foot minimum. The city inspects first, and no grass comes out until Mesa issues a notice to proceed.

Mesa's irrigation equipment incentives add up to $20,000 per property in a 12-month period, including 50% of the wholesale price of a WaterSense smart controller, up to $2,000 each. Single-family HOAs with a dedicated landscape meter can also use Waterfluence, a free water budgeting tool, and enrolled HOAs can apply for a free landscape assessment.

Program rules change, so confirm current terms with the city: City of Mesa: Water Management for HOAs. More detail in our Mesa HOA water incentives guide.

FAQ

HOA landscaping in Mesa: common questions

Does Pro Turf have an office in Mesa?

Yes. Our office is at 2929 N Power Rd in Mesa, and our crews work out of our yard on East Baseline Road in Gilbert, right next door.

Can you help our Mesa HOA apply for the grass removal incentive?

Yes. We measure the grass, prepare the photos and itemized quote the city asks for, and wait for Mesa's notice to proceed before any grass comes out. Approval decisions are made by the city.

Can you review our Waterfluence reports?

Yes. If your community uses Waterfluence, we'll go over the reports with your manager and adjust controller schedules and repairs to bring water use in line with the budget.

How do HOA boards choose a landscaping company?

Give every company the same scope, then compare how irrigation, extra work and communication are handled, and verify license, bonding and insurance. Our guide on comparing landscape proposals walks boards through it step by step.

Do you attend HOA board meetings?

We can present proposals and project plans to boards when needed.
